I should've probably learnt that people judge one another by assets, rather than anything else. Most people would have probably understood this simple fundamental, which probably spurred them on to study hard in school. Then with a colourful certificate, proceed on to secure a wonderful job. Payslip in hand, a nice house and car follows suit. Eyes glow at the brand of your car, the numbers on your car plate, the size of your house and the clothes that you wear.
Most people would say that's bullshit and declare the greatness of love and other intangible feelings. But in actual fact, money does make the world go faster. Devoutees of various religons preach the fragility of life and the insignificance of things on this earth, but they too look at you with a shade of judgement. They themselves strive to achieve amazing salaries for what reason?
If there was really a person that created the universe with his word and he stood before you, would you give EVERYTHING to him? Or would you give $10 per week and keep your Mercedes Benz?
Now, after all that rambling, it all started with a phone call from my aunt. I've heard from her in a while and the conversation started like this.
"So you're working now har? How much you earn?"
(My pay is too miserable to be mentioned here.)
"HAR? SOOO little ah. Your parents home anot? Ok bye."
