This weekend's stretched over till monday and it was something that kept my morale up pretty much throughout the field camps so far. Then, things always have to turn sour on me. Oh well, with such extreme luck, I struck lottery at the dip.
Anyhow, whilst resting after my shift this morning, my phone began buzzing and someone told me that I was scheduled to perform a duty officer's role today. There was a pause, as I composed myself from hurling a barrage of vulgarities right back.
I've already done my duty 2 weeks back and my name was not on the list a few days ago. I tried to clarify things but somehow the person in charge decided to use the old schedule. Plus, I've just done 24 hrs of guard duty which I shouldn't be doing.
Tired and pissed, "you better wake up your fucking idea." slipped out. Now I feel pretty guilty for saying that.
I dialed a cab this morning and the surcharge was $6. Fuck. But time is worth more than that shit ass 6bucks.
Dished out the band of brothers movie and chucked it into the player. Somehow watching things you actually can relate to, makes everything so much more interesting. For once, I think about the sweat, effort, emotion and sights that you don't feel from a TV screen.
